Toshiba's Newest release of Netbook doesn't come up with intel's ULV chip but packs with AMD's Ontario APU. I've been ignoring what APU is all about, a quick google on the keyword doesn't reveal any wiki which I've been depending to but instead an information direct from the source came out as well. Here in the Philippines, AMD is not a big name compared to Intel. Most likely geeks alike and fellow technical people would only that AMD is such a big name. AMD is also associated with power hungry chips so more netbooks rely on Intel's ATOM. Good thing is Ontario APU would probably give Intel some fair competition because of the low voltage output and a (CPU + GPU) combo for some semi extensive work processing.
Anyway there's no specific detail about Toshiba NB550D aside from it's estimated 9.5 hours battery life, a 10'' screen and the newest 1Ghz AMD Ontario APU. This Ontario APU by the way may come in single or dual core with a power consumption of 18W and 25W respectively. It also comes with a 1gb DDR3 of Memory and a 250gb Storage which is pretty standard for most netbooks.
